From the new “Selection” range Vale D'Algares presents his new red wine from 2007, the Vale D’Algares “Selection” Red 2007


After the "Selection" 2008 White is the turn of the new "Selection" Red 2007. This wine segment should reinforce the presence of Val D'Algares in a more demanding market, the “Selection” are between Guard Rios and the higher level Brand (Viognier).

Created by the winemaker Eng. Pedro Pereira Gonçalves, the "Selection" Red is the results of different wine-making processes that aim to achieve a broader public aware of new products, more demanding and more knowledgeable, like to share a good wine with friends, have an active social life and are a regular presence in restaurants. The positioning of the new wine is super-premium.
This Regional Tejo wine, which was produced 6400 bottles, was produced in limestone and clay soils on a Valley, the clime are Mediterranean with influence of Tagus River and the harvest was done to manual boxes of 12kg. We use carpet choice of bunches and barriers with partial crushing, cold soak for 12 hours with punch down, alcoholic fermentation 10 days in rock tanks “Lagares” with(5mx5mx0,5m) and French oak vats, aged 14 months in new French oak barrels, the varietals used are Merlot (60%) and Touriga Nacional (40%) This wine has an alcohol content of 14.5 º and must be served to 18.
